TEXO Recruitment are currently supporting a well-established engineering workshop in the search for an experienced Machinist to join their team on a permanent basis. Operating within a busy machine shop, the successful candidate will work across CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, turning, and drilling equipment, manufacturing both batch and one-off components to precise specifications. This is a hands-on machining role and is not a programming or operator-only position. Previous machining experience and a time-served background are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, turning, and drilling equipment
- Manufacture batch and one-off components to precise specifications
- Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings
- Ensure all work is completed to required quality standards
- Work independently and collaboratively with other workshop departments
- Manage multiple machining tasks and projects simultaneously
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
- Contribute to a proactive and productive workshop environment
Requirements
Essential
- Time-served tradesman with proven machining experience
- Experience operating CNC and manual milling machines and lathes
- Strong turning and drilling experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
Desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience within a multi-discipline engineering workshop environment
Hours & Benefits
Working Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm
- Overtime and weekend work available as required
