The Utility Surveyor will conduct detailed surveys to locate, map, and inspect underground utilities. The position involves using various techniques such as ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic induction, and GPS to gather accurate data, which is then analysed to create reports and maps for construction, planning, and maintenance purposes.

Area(s) of Responsibility:

  • Take a lead role in planning and executing utility survey projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that utility surveys are conducted safely, efficiently and correctly in compliance with survey scope documents provided.
  • Ensuring a consistent standard of delivery is always supplied to clients.
  • Promote a robust safety culture and ensure Texo Safety Management System (SMS) is utilised correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring Texo DSI survey specifications are delivered in accordance with survey scope provided.
  • Ensuring Texo DSI data management protocols are always adhered to.
  • Provide guidance, leadership and expertise to Junior team members.
  • Make recommendations for product quality and reliability.
  • Assist and support the client proposal process at the bidding stage to maximise the company’s opportunity to win the work.
  • Use a range of surveying techniques to detect and map underground utilities (e.g., gas, water, electricity, telecom).
  • Gather accurate data on utility locations, depth, and condition by using specialized surveying equipment (e.g., electromagnetic locators, GPR).
  • Conduct site visits to assess and collect field data for utility mapping, including visual inspections and measurement of infrastructure.
  • Create detailed and accurate utility maps and reports, including updates to CAD drawings or GIS systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure the safety of yourself and others during fieldwork.
