TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a major recladding and building remediation project in Plymouth. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the project, overseeing site operations, quality assurance, health & safety, programme delivery and subcontractor management.

Project Details:

  • Start Date: 5th October 2026
  • On-Site Start: 2nd November 2026
  • Project Completion: October 2027

The first 4 weeks will involve company training, familiarisation with the project and commencing pre-condition surveys before moving onto site on 2nd November 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Management & Operations
    • Lead daily site briefings and project inductions.
    • Conduct daily H&S walkarounds and maintain site safety standards.
    • Inspect temporary works and maintain accurate safety records.
    • Test fire alarms and review emergency evacuation routes.
    • Maintain the Daily Diary, documenting site activities and progress.
    • Manage site logistics, including labour and Traffic Marshalls.
  • Quality Assurance & Design
    • Review drawings to ensure design compliance.
    • Manage quality control and photographic records.
    • Update the Quality Tracker and ensure defects are closed out.
    • Oversee material call-off schedules to prevent delays.
  • Project & Commercial Management
    • Manage the project programme and track progress.
    • Update the weekly programme using MS Project.
    • Identify project variations against the original JCT scope of works.
    • Work with the Commercial team to ensure formal instructions and variations are documented.
    • Maintain project documentation and shared drives.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Management
    • Chair weekly subcontractor meetings and issue minutes.
    • Attend client meetings as the primary technical site representative.
    • Produce weekly progress reports and monthly client overview reports.
    • Compile H&S documentation for internal and external audits.
    • Regularly review RAMS and the Construction Phase Plan (CPP).

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Manager, Senior Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Proven cladding/recladding or facade experience.
  • Experience with rainscreen, cladding, glazing or EWI systems.
  • Previous experience in building remediation, including cladding, fire safety or structural remediation.
  • Experience working for a Principal Contractor.
  • Strong subcontractor and multidisciplinary team management experience.
  • Good knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Experience using MS Project and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of Building Control and structural warranty standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

Essential Qualifications & Training:

All of the following are essential:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate
  • First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification
  • PASMA certification
  • Scaffolding Awareness training
  • Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • MCIOB or ICIOB professional membership.
