TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter for one of our external clients in Blyth to join their maintenance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanical specialist to work within a busy operational environment, maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy plant and port-related equipment critical to daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance on a wide range of port equipment, including cranes, forklifts, heavy plant, vehicles, and fixed machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults efficiently and complete repairs to minimise equipment downtime and maintain operational productivity.
- Inspect, service, and replace worn or defective components to ensure machinery remains safe and fully operational.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs as required.
- Support operational activities, including assisting with cargo loading and unloading where necessary.
Requirements
- Mechanical NVQ / HNC
- Experience working on Diesel Engines (cars, trucks, cranes, FLT's)
- Experience installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment.
- Experience working with forklifts, cranes, and heavy plant machinery.
- Full UK driving license
