Camira, a leading innovator in high-performance transport textiles, has announced an opening for a Textile Designer to join its team in developing the next generation of sustainable, commercially successful fabrics for the transport sector.

Responsibilities

  • Design visually distinctive, high-performance textiles that balance creativity with rigorous technical and environmental standards.
  • Work from initial concept through to market launch, strengthening Camira's position as a market leader in transport textiles.
  • Lead projects through Camira's New Product Introduction process, researching emerging trends and future technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Represent Camira at customer meetings and industry events, presenting concepts through mood boards, digital visuals, and technical presentations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in textile design, preferably within the transport or carpet industries.
  • Degree in Textile, Surface, or Print Design or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Nedgraphics, Scotweave, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
  • Portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical understanding, and commercial awareness.
  • Confident communicator with excellent time‐management skills, a proactive approach, and a full driving licence.
