Do you have what it takes through Organisational Development to support a large-scale transformation programme in a bustling department? As the People Improvement Adviser, you will support the Theatre Productivity Improvement Programme Lead to enhance theatre productivity and efficiency, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and safety through alignment of strategy and structure through the people and culture in the team.
We must transform our theatre services and enhance its overall effectiveness, recognising the importance of human resources, looking at the organisational dynamics, behavioural and cultural factors to improve quality and performance. We know it's going to be a real challenge - we need somebody who understands that people are at the heart of everything we do, someone who wants to make a true difference. You'll need drive, passion, experience and tenacity.
Please be aware this is a fixed term 2 year post.
Main duties of the job
What You'll Do:
- Support through our people a large-scale transformation programme to improve theatre productivity and efficiency.
- Use a variety of OD tools and techniques to identify improvements to the functionality of the department, focusing on people, processes, structure and culture to create a more effective, efficient and engaged workplace.
- Engage and empower staff, fostering a culture of compassionate and inclusive leadership.

- Experience of providing HR support for implementation of large change programmes within a large team.
- Experience of managing and providing professional advice and coaching to leaders in all areas of employee relations.

Qualifications & Training
- Degree level qualified or equivalent experience.
- Good standard of education in English Language and Maths GCSE (or equivalent).
- Post graduate diploma in Human Resources (CIPD) in organisational learning and development management or equivalent, or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience.
Experience
- Experience of leading and supporting organisational change/co-designing and implementing organisational development initiatives and change programmes.
- Experience of effective engagement and communication with a range of levels of management and staff within an organisation.
- Experience of having developed and delivered training sessions in HR & OD Best Practice.
- Experience of providing a customer focused HR service and giving advice to managers on a wide range of HR / ER issues.
- Experience of working within a diverse, unionised environment.
- Experience of managing an employee relations caseload across a range of matters (absence, disciplinary, grievance, conduct, capability).
- Experience of writing management statement of cases and advising managers at formal hearings.
- Experience of handling termination of employment, including dismissal.
- Proven experience of giving advice and support on sensitive and confidential matters including complex and contentious casework.
- Experience of contributing to the development of and implementing successfully employee relations policies, procedures and service improvement.
- Experience of absence management.
- Experienced in persuasion, negotiation, mediation, influencing and coaching skills.

- Knowledge of OD principles and tools to deliver positive culture change.
- Sound knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Knowledge of recruitment and selection processes.
