Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils ranging from £50k to £5m.
- Work alone or lead a small team with quantity surveyors, CAD technicians and engineers, as project size and complexity require.
- Perform surveying activities including technical reporting, defect diagnosis, preparing schedules of works, contract administration and overall project management.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, insurers, contractors and other stakeholders, delivering professional reports within tight deadlines.
- Manage workloads and make reasoned decisions under pressure, demonstrating empathy for clients who have suffered loss or bereavement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel by car.
- Excellent communication skills – wrote clear reports and negotiated settlements.
- Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
- Chartered status (or actively working toward it) – MRICS or MCIOB preferred.
What's Helpful but Not Essential
- Experience using Apple software such as iPads or other tablets.
