Location: Cardiff/Southwest

Type: Permanent

Remuneration: Competitive salary based on skills, experience and qualifications; includes incentive scheme, fully funded company vehicle or cash in lieu allowance, and self‑invested pension scheme.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils ranging from £50k to £5m.
  • Work alone or lead a small team with quantity surveyors, CAD technicians and engineers, as project size and complexity require.
  • Perform surveying activities including technical reporting, defect diagnosis, preparing schedules of works, contract administration and overall project management.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, insurers, contractors and other stakeholders, delivering professional reports within tight deadlines.
  • Manage workloads and make reasoned decisions under pressure, demonstrating empathy for clients who have suffered loss or bereavement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel by car.
  • Excellent communication skills – wrote clear reports and negotiated settlements.
  • Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
  • Chartered status (or actively working toward it) – MRICS or MCIOB preferred.

What's Helpful but Not Essential

  • Experience using Apple software such as iPads or other tablets.
