We have a full-time position available to join the Imaging department as a Band 2 General Imaging Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to community diagnostic centres and mobile scanner sites within the region, including Whitworth (Matlock) and Walton, with varying shift patterns between 7.30am and 8pm, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the Imaging Care Unit by providing clinical and administrative support, ensuring high-quality service delivery to outpatients.
  • Coordinate patient transfers to and from wards to facilitate patient pathways across all Imaging department areas, including shifts at satellite hospitals.
  • Assist the Imaging Team in patient care, including helping patients undress, assisting during examinations, and supporting discharge procedures.
  • Use computer systems for patient registration and booking, and support reception duties.
  • Escort patients as needed and chaperone during examinations.
  • Process images and post-examination documentation.
  • Maintain departmental tidiness and stock levels of linen and equipment.
  • Implement infection control policies and support clinical governance, research, and audit activities.
  • Support patient reassurance and guidance throughout procedures.
  • Complete imaging safety questionnaires and assess patient suitability for procedures like cannulation, reporting any issues to relevant teams.
  • Participate in stock control, audit, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
