An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Theatre Operating Department as a Theatre Receptionist, covering maternity leave. The post will be for 22.5 hours per week working Mon, Tue and Wednesday, 08:00 - 16:00.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an important clerical role to the Operating Department, co-ordinating and communicating timely admission to theatres, and ensuring that changes to theatre lists are reflected on the Ormis system.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and departments, and receive patients from the Day case and Inpatient admission areas and from across all Surgical wards.
  • Receive and signpost all visitors to the Operating Department.
  • Deal with enquiries courteously and efficiently.
  • Provide administrative support for activities associated with the Operating Department.
  • Ensure theatre lists are updated on the Ormis system in a timely way when changes or updates are made.
  • Receive and relay messages throughout the department.
  • Assist in routine office procedures, including the transportation of documentation, photocopying, filing and general clerical work.
  • Maintain communication and liaise with other hospital departments and outside callers.
  • Input patient data and perform duties related to the trust and department computer systems as necessary, ensuring information can be retrieved easily on request.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with other staff within the units to ensure efficient and smooth running.

It is near Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, offering various recreational options. The hospital provides acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
