As a leader of the multidisciplinary team within the Operating Department, the post holder will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation and smooth running of the department. They will demonstrate leadership which will encourage and promote effective teamwork and provide clinical expertise in delegated areas of the Operating Department to ensure the highest possible standards of patient care.
The theatre service will be co-ordinated to ensure effective management of personnel and resources and they will support their own team of staff with regard to training and development ensuring that personal development plans are formulated and carried out and mandatory training is attended as and when required.

This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield, there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community.
Essential criteria include:
- Possess HE Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice (or equivalent) OR RGN 1st level
- Current NMC/HCPC Registration
- Minimum 2 years recent ongoing experience in a related area
- Good communication and interpersonal skills & ability to work within and lead a multidisciplinary team
- Management/leadership skills
Desirable criteria include:
- Relevant Post Basic Course/Equivalent
- Appropriate management course
- Relevant teaching qualification/mentorship module
