An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a Matron within our Child Health Department for our Community Services. To have management responsibility and accountability for the delivery and performance for all our community services, including a Psychology led ASD Service. The Matron for Community Services will work with the Lead Nurse Family Care Division and Matron for Acute Paediatric services, Head of Practice and Professional Development and Head of Quality Governance to promote and ensure the highest standards of care within the services and the wider care unit.

It's an exciting time to join our team as we invest in new leadership roles within our paediatrics structure to strengthen support to our clinical teams and enable excellent clinical outcomes and outstanding patient and staff experience. As an experienced clinical leader, you will work with the Lead Nurse for Child Health to lead the community teams ensuring that children and young people and their families receive compassionate and high quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional leadership and direction for the Community Nursing Services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.
  • Provide an accessible and visible presence across paediatric services, advising staff, children and young people and their families.
  • Demonstrate highly developed leadership behaviours and be a role model for our values, inclusion, staff engagement and supporting our teams.
  • Deal with all incidents and any complaints relating to community services managed in line with the trusts policies.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, Specialty specific registration appropriate to role, RSCN or equivalent
  • Formal management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Evidence of appropriate relevant professional development

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with nursing children with complex care needs within an acute setting
  • Community Nursing Qualification
  • Neurodisability Experience

Experience:

  • Up to date relevant clinical experience
  • Involvement in developing strategic and operational plans
  • Managing and investigating complaints and incidents
  • Involvement at a leadership level on issues relating to quality governance, monitoring and standard setting
  • Experience of senior management and leadership of operational teams
  • Proven track record of managing complex change within an acute setting
