The Woodlands Township is a special purpose district that serves as the governmental service provider for the community, located 27 miles north of Houston, Texas. The community has more than 120,000 residents and 2,100 businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the department, which is comprised of 63 employees and an annual budget of $4.3 million.
- Administer deed restrictions and enforce residential and commercial covenants on properties for violations.
- Oversee property standards and issuance of permits, ensuring property maintenance aligns with neighborhood standards.
- Act as a representative of the Residential Design Review Committee and the Development Standards Committee.
- Approve commercial improvements and review property owners’ applications for variances to standards.
- Enforce standards governing property use and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least seven (7) years of related experience, with a minimum of five (5) years of significant supervisory experience.
- Master’s degree preferred, with prior experience working in the public sector.
