This advert is primarily for a director of medical education at 3PAs. Clinical work will then be assigned based on specialty of the successful candidate - please see below for further detail on posts which are flexible in terms of number of PAs.
To be responsible for framing thestrategic direction of medical education and training in the Trust at both postgraduateand undergraduate level.
To oversee the development and delivery of medicaleducation in the Trust for medical students, resident doctors and GMC traineraccreditation standards for trainers
Main duties of the job

Tenure: Three years (first year probationary)fixed term, subject to annual review. Post holder can re-apply at the end ofthe term.
Programmed Activities: 3 PAs for DME + clinical work in adult or older adult psychiatry
TheConsultant contract will be substantive.

Qualifications
- Medical Degree and registered on specialist register
- Current registration with the GMC or other regulatory body
- Registered for CPD with RCPsych
- Trained in educational supervision
- Higher qualification in medical education
Experience
- Current or past trainer
- Excellent knowledge of postgraduate medical education
- Understand principles of quality assurance in medical education
- Leadership and management skills
- Previous experience as a college tutor or training programme director
- Knowledge of medical curriculum
- Understanding of medical workforce pressures
