We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Property Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. The post will be based at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham.
Main duties of the job:
- The post will be responsible for ensuring value for money, well-utilised leased accommodation for both clinical and administrative services, and seek opportunities to maximise revenue income where possible while maintaining accurate occupation records.
- Candidates should have experience in property management, preferably with some commercial landlord experience or experience in rationalising estate, identifying cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
- The post holder will manage the Trust's freehold estate and leasehold premises, including legal aspects of property occupation agreements.
- They will lead the Trust's property management services, including landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions, granting occupancy arrangements, rent assessments and reviews, service charge oversight, and asset valuation.
- The role involves providing expert advice on property-related matters, including acquisitions, disposals, estate utilisation, value for money, and options appraisals.

Qualifications:
- A relevant professional qualification at degree/graduate level.
- Membership of a professional body such as I. Eng CIBSE, IEE, I Mech E, RICS, CIOB, CBAT, or similar.
- Evidence of qualifications and professional membership.
Experience:
- Expert knowledge of land and property legal transactions, landlord and tenant issues, leases, licenses, rent assessments, and reviews.
- Experience working in an NHS environment and familiarity with NHS Estates Capital Investment Manual.
- Knowledge of health and safety in construction management.
- Experience in contract law and procedures, working with external agencies, and contract services.
- High numeracy skills, experience in information handling, and IT skills.
- Experience with NHS Improvement and Estates Returns Information Collection (ERIC).
