Provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust, ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.

Based at Huntington House, Monks Cross, Jockey Lane, Huntington, York. Shift pattern: 7am–8pm, Monday to Friday (17.5 hours).
Be highly motivated, reliable and flexible; willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.
Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment is essential. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion for providing high standards of customer service.
Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is essential. Ability to present a positive approach and image when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust.
Candidates must possess Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or work towards successful completion in an agreed timescale. Essential are numeracy, literacy and IT level 2 (Equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 / A* to C in the old system). NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping is desirable. All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undertaking further training and qualifications as deemed necessary to the position within agreed timescales.
Job responsibilities include completing a 5-day induction programme; location will be agreed prior to start date.
Person Specification
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (to be completed within 12 months)
- Numeracy and Literacy to level 2
- NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping (within agreed timescale)
Experience
- Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
- Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health or learning disabilities environment
- Experience cleaning in a hospital environment
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
- Knowledge of National Standard of Cleanliness (within agreed timescale)
- Knowledge of deep-cleaning procedures
- Knowledge of Patient-Lead Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE) (within agreed timescale)
- Good understanding of confidentiality
Skills
- Able to follow protocols and instructions
- Able to demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail in all tasks
- Safe, efficient and effective techniques in cleaning, deep cleaning, use of motorised cleaning equipment, use of kitchen equipment, preparation and serving of food, use and cleaning of regeneration ovens, washing and ironing

- Time management and ability to prioritise effectively
- Breakaway techniques (within agreed timescale)
