We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Business Studies and Economics with a passion for outstanding teaching and meaningful learning experiences to join our team at Tewkesbury Academy. Through your subject expertise, you will deliver a high-quality Business Studies and Economics curriculum that develops students' commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, economic understanding and analytical skills, while helping them understand the role of businesses, markets and economic decision-making in the local, national and global economy.

About you

  • A qualified teacher or hold an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Able to deliver the Business Studies and Economics curriculum with confidence and creativity, consistently teaching high-quality lessons across the relevant key stages.
  • Skilled in meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners, including pupil premium students, looked after children, those with SEND and high-attaining students.
  • A strong communicator, capable of embracing change, motivating colleagues and building positive, supportive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Committed to offering learning beyond the classroom, recognising and valuing enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities, business competitions, employer engagement, educational visits, careers events and cross-curricular projects that enhance students' understanding of business, economics and the wider world.
  • Motivated to develop your own expert practice while contributing to the professional growth of others.
  • Highly competent across all elements of the Teachers' Standards, with substantial and sustained achievements suited to an Upper Pay Scale teacher.
