We Are Teva
Our Team, Your Impact
Teva is seeking a Senior Director, Global Payroll Operations, to lead in-country payroll teams and partner with HR, Global Mobility, Finance, Treasury, IT, Procurement, Legal, Compliance and payroll vendors. The role will drive operational excellence, controls, compliance and a standardized, resilient, digitally enabled and employee-focused global payroll model.
The role oversees payroll operations for 30,000 employees globally and reports to the VP, HR Operations. It provides strategic direction, governance, service performance and risk leadership across in-house, local-provider and global-provider models, including the integration of additional countries.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Ensure accurate, timely and compliant end-to-end payroll delivery across all countries, with effective oversight of payroll funding, reconciliations, accounting interfaces and issue resolution.
- Develop and execute the multi-year global payroll strategy, including the target operating model, provider strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, vendor transitions and plans to scale operations across countries.
- Modernize, consolidate and digitalize payroll solutions, reducing systems and integration points while defining data ownership and scalable global, regional and local delivery models.
- Improve employee experience through self-service, standardized knowledge, ServiceNow case management, analytics, automation and AI-enabled support such as our in-house AI Chatbot.
- Integrate new countries, teams, providers and controls into scalable global, regional and local delivery models, balancing standardization with mandatory local requirements.
- Own operational plans, annual budgets, transformation business cases, vendor costs and investment priorities; drive simplification, elimination of unnecessary activities and measurable service and cost improvements.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury and other stakeholders on payroll funding, reconciliations, accounting, financial controls, performance, risks, investment needs and transformation progress.
- Lead and develop global payroll teams, build succession and capability plans, and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture through organizational and technological change.
- Design compliant workflows and controls with clear accountability, segregation of duties, traceable approvals, evidence retention, monitoring and audit-ready SOX documentation; oversee remediation and regulatory change.
- Own global payroll governance, service standards, KPIs, escalation, decision rights, risk reporting and operational and strategic reviews.
- Own business continuity, operational resilience and crisis readiness for global payroll.
- Lead payroll support for audits, entity changes, mergers and divestitures.
- Oversee global mobility payroll and payroll integration with time-and-attendance, HR and Finance systems; represent payroll in enterprise-wide change initiatives.
Your Skills and Experience
- At least 15 years of progressive, hands-on multi-country payroll experience in a large manufacturing or complex multinational organization, including global operations, governance and transformation leadership.
- Proven experience leading direct and indirect global teams, developing senior leaders, integrating teams and managing change.
- Experience with ADP payroll solutions and SuccessFactors is advantageous; global payroll platforms, ServiceNow, analytics, automation, digital knowledge management or AI-enabled employee support are highly desirable.
- Strong vendor-management experience across sourcing, contracting, implementation, SLAs, commercial governance, risk oversight and provider transitions.
- Demonstrated payroll transformation expertise spanning operating-model design, standardization, technology implementation, change management, automation, scalability, cost effectiveness and measurable benefits.
- Strong stakeholder and executive-influencing skills across HR, Finance, Treasury, IT, Procurement, Legal, Compliance and external partners.
- Strong program and project management skills across multiple countries, vendors, dependencies, milestones and concurrent initiatives.
- Highly analytical, able to convert payroll, case, control and vendor data into executive insight and improvement priorities.
- Deep knowledge of payroll governance, SOX, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, data privacy, segregation of duties, risk management, business continuity and operational resilience.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, attention to detail, confidentiality and concise communication with teammates, management and external contacts.
