Assistant Project Coordinator

Assistant Project Coordinator – Tetra Tech

Purpose and scope of the role:
Tetra Tech is looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Project Coordinator to support the planning team in delivering projects and operational work effectively. You will help maintain project plans, capture changes to priorities, support reporting and KPI outputs, and liaise with internal stakeholders to keep schedules accurate and up to date. This is a varied role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys coordination, problem-solving and attention to detail.

Your impact in this position:
You will play an important role in keeping planning information consistent, current and useful for decision-making. In the short term, you will support day-to-day scheduling and reporting activity. Over time, you will contribute to process improvements, help develop more efficient planning tools, and build experience working across teams and with field-based colleagues.

Core Capabilities:

  • Planning support: Assist with maintaining project plans, updating schedules promptly when priorities change, and supporting weekly programme forecasts.
  • Reporting and data handling: Help develop, maintain and extract standard planning reports and KPI information, ensuring consistency across teams.
  • Coordination and communication: Attend programme meetings, support planning decisions, and act as a link between office and field teams to keep everyone informed.
  • Process improvement: Support the development and documentation of planning processes and help update planning tools when programme changes occur.
  • Resource allocation: Assist with allocating jobs to field planners based on skills, availability and priority, and support the team in resolving constraints quickly.

Skills, qualifications and experience:
No specific qualification is expected for this role, although a project planning certification or similar would be desirable but not essential. Experience using Microsoft Office is required. Previous experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud or other Primavera software would be advantageous, but is not essential. You should be reliable, enthusiastic, adaptable and able to work well as part of a multi-functional team. Strong attention to detail, good analysis skills and clear written and verbal communication are important.

Work patterns and locations:
This is a hybrid role based out of Stepps, with 2 days per week in the office. You may also be required to attend a client office at the start of the role for training purposes.
