Occupational Health Advisor

Take Your Occupational Health Expertise Across the Midlands

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to deliver proactive, high-quality occupational health services across client sites in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester.

Purpose and Scope of the Role

This permanent, peripatetic role will see you provide occupational health support across a regional client portfolio, delivering case management, health surveillance, health screening and health promotion services.

You will work closely with employees, managers, client representatives and the wider clinical team to support safe, healthy and productive workplaces. As part of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, technicians and advisors, you will advise on fitness for work, absence management, workplace adjustments and employee assistance programmes.

The team prioritises quality over volume, with case management assessments limited to six per day to support robust clinical standards, manageable workloads and long-term colleague wellbeing.

Your Impact in this Position

From day one, you will help clients manage workplace health risks, support employees with practical, evidence-based advice and ensure occupational health activity is delivered in line with relevant legislation.

As you build relationships across the Midlands, you will contribute to preventative health strategies, strengthen service delivery and support continuous improvement. You will join a collaborative environment built on trust, respect and shared success, with ongoing support for professional development and maintaining NMC registration.

Core Capabilities

Occupational Health Case Management
• Deliver clear, timely advice on fitness for work, absence management, workplace adjustments and employee support, balancing wellbeing with operational needs.

Health Surveillance and Screening
• Apply experience in procedures such as audiometry, spirometry and skin management to help prevent adverse health effects from workplace activities.

Client and Stakeholder Communication
• Build effective relationships with employees, managers and client representatives, providing empathetic, practical and commercially aware guidance.

Professional Judgement and Compliance
• Coordinate occupational health activity in line with legislation, clinical standards, confidentiality requirements and relevant policies, escalating concerns appropriately.

Organisation and Self-Management
• Manage appointments, records, follow-up actions and competing priorities accurately and professionally while travelling between client sites.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

You will be a Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration and a post-registration qualification in Occupational Health at certificate, diploma or degree level.

You should have experience across occupational health service delivery, including case management, health surveillance, screening and health promotion. Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, confident IT capability including Microsoft Office, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. A current UK driving licence is required.

Work Pattern and Location

This is a peripatetic Midlands role, supporting client sites across Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. Site attendance will be required in line with client needs, with hybrid working considered where appropriate for non-clinical activity. #LI-SY1 #OccupationalHealth
