Overview

In this role you will lead defence infrastructure projects end-to-end for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), aligning with cross-functional specialists. You will oversee programme, cost, risk, and quality, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing commercial and contractual requirements. You will build robust plans, risk registers, and stakeholder plans to secure on-time, safe delivery. You will work with an experienced team to deepen defence-sector expertise and tackle increasingly complex challenges. This is an opportunity to shape major defence projects and contribute to trusted client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects to programme and budget, including resources, milestones, change, risk and quality throughout the lifecycle
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across buildings and civil engineering programmes
  • Manage commercial and contractual requirements with sound judgement and negotiation to achieve positive outcomes
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and provide clear project documentation (programmes, risk registers, execution plans, stakeholder plans, quality plans)
  • Ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support a high-performing team culture through leadership and collaboration

Key requirements

  • Proven project management experience within a complex technical environment
  • NEC3/NEC4 experience (advantageous)
  • Recognised project management qualification or relevant professional accreditation (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with MS Project, Excel, Viewpoint for Projects and CEMAR (beneficial)
  • SC clearance or suitability to obtain it
  • Valid driving licence (desirable)
