Overview
In this role you will provide practical legal support across Tetra Tech, advising on contract terms, professional appointments and legal risk. You will work within a small team led by a former partner, reviewing, advising on and negotiating professional consultancy agreements while ensuring compliance with corporate risk policies. You will support tenders, complex negotiations and NDAs, deliver legal training, and help develop the team’s solicitor apprentice. There is also scope to explore legal AI solutions and progression within the team.

Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate and advise on non-contentious construction contracts, professional appointments, consultancy agreements and framework agreements
- Identify legal and commercial risks and provide proportionate advice aligned with risk policies
- Support tenders and projects, assist with challenging negotiations and inform business decisions
- Explain complex legal issues to project managers and senior management and deliver practical contractual training
- Contribute to the development of the solicitor apprentice and explore innovative legal technology, including AI solutions
Key requirements
- at least four years’ PQE in non-contentious construction law or equivalent in-house experience
- strong knowledge of professional appointments
