Purpose & Scope of the Role

Tetra Tech is a market-leading consultancy delivering data-driven solutions across water, environment, infrastructure, energy and international development. Our Geo-environmental team provides geo-environmental and geotechnical consultancy, supported by in-house ground investigation services. We are seeking two Graduate Engineering Geologists or Geo-environmental Consultants to join the team and contribute to contaminated land, geotechnical assessment, site investigation and brownfield redevelopment projects across property & regeneration, utilities, defence estates and transport.

Your Impact in this position

You will support the delivery of ground investigations and environmental assessments, helping to gather, analyse and interpret site data and produce clear technical outputs. Working alongside experienced specialists, you'll build practical consultancy skills while contributing to projects that make a real difference.

5 Core Capabilities

  • Desk Study Assessments - Prepare desktop reviews to inform site understanding and project decisions.
  • Ground Investigation Support - Assist with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations.
  • Data Collection and Interpretation - Collect, analyse and interpret site data accurately and confidently.
  • Technical Reporting - Produce interpretative contamination and geotechnical reports to a high standard.
  • Monitoring and Assessment - Undertake ground gas and groundwater monitoring and support assessment work.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree in geology, engineering geology or a related subject, plus a genuine interest in engineering geology, site investigation, contaminated land and brownfield redevelopment. A work placement or similar experience is desirable. Strong analytical, written, verbal and presentation skills, teamwork, a commitment to working towards chartership, a full driving licence, vehicle access and suitability for security clearance are required.

Working Environment

Based in Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh, with hybrid working supported in line with team and project needs. As a graduate role, there will be an expectation to spend more time in the office initially to support learning, collaboration and development, alongside site visits and project-based travel as required.
