Join Tetra Tech and play a leading role in the delivery of major highways and infrastructure projects, working with high-performing teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
Purpose & Scope of the Role Working with our Transport Team in the North, you will provide transport planning expertise across a range of larger highways and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects as well as supporting Developer clients in delivery of planning permissions.
Our forward workload includes a range of Developers including local , regional and national businesses, National Highways, Local Authority and Homes England framework projects.
You will work independently and proactively, ensuring work is won and delivered to the relevant technical and planning standards, required quality, programme and budget.
The role includes client-facing project and design management, responsibility for transport planning deliverables, project reporting and input into client and internal meetings.
Your Impact in this position You will take responsibility for managing project progress, quality and finances while helping coordinate the transport planning inputs to infrastructure development projects.
As an experienced professional, you will instruct, supervise and check transport planning input from internal teams and external sub-consultants, while mentoring colleagues in transport planning and project management.
Core Capabilities Transport Planning & Technical Knowledge Chartered transport professional Apply your broad transport planning background and knowledge of delivering transport planning inputs to support the delivery of infrastructure projects and development opportunities.
Project & Design Management Lead the transport planning inputs to complex local, regional and nationally important infrastructure and development projects within collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
Client & Commercial Management Develop and grow client relationships leading to work winning opportunities.
Manage client relationships, meetings, project reporting, progress, quality and finances, with knowledge of Professional and Engineering Contracts.
Leadership & Collaboration Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to team members, communicating effectively and adapting to challenging and changing project priorities.
Training, Qualifications & Experience You should hold an HNC/degree in Civil Engineering or a similar construction-related qualification.
Ideally Chartered professional status with ICE or CIHT is preferred.
Extensive experience of producing and managing transport planning inputs into development projects and major National Highways or County Council-led projects.
Knowledge of National Planning Procedures is essential.
Working Environment This role can be based in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office, working as part of our Transport Team in the north.
