Join a growing Project Management team delivering high-profile work across our Water Consultancy business. This is an opportunity to support major clean water programmes and help shape the delivery of essential projects that make a real difference to communities across the UK.

Purpose and scope of the role

As Project Manager, you will support the delivery of multiple client projects within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, modellers and data analysts. Working closely with Technical Managers and clients, you will manage project planning, governance, reporting, forecasting and financial control. You will lead projects from inception through to handover and closure, ensuring delivery to time, quality and cost while supporting billing, invoicing and wider team coordination.

Your impact in this position

You will play a key role in delivering a strong pipeline of water industry projects, supporting AMP8 programmes and beyond. In the short term, you will build trusted relationships, manage active projects and strengthen delivery controls. Over time, you will help improve project processes, support colleagues through training and guidance, and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative culture with real scope for career development.

  • Project delivery leadership – Confidently manage multiple projects at once, ensuring clear objectives, progress tracking and successful outcomes across the full lifecycle.
  • Commercial and financial awareness – Monitor budgets, forecasts and performance data, using insight to support effective decision-making and project control.
  • Stakeholder engagement – Communicate clearly with clients, Technical Managers and colleagues, building strong working relationships and responding effectively to project needs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills – Interpret complex information, identify risks and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Continuous improvement mindset – Support better ways of working by developing guidance, sharing knowledge and contributing to process improvements across the team.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Degree in a technical or construction discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage. PRINCE2 or equivalent is desirable, or you should be willing to achieve certification within six months of probation. You should have at least two years’ project management experience, with five or more years in the water sector preferred. Strong Microsoft 365, SharePoint, reporting and presentation skills are essential, along with experience of MS Project or Jira.
