In an apprentice role, you will work on exciting, ground-breaking projects from day one, with support to grow in your chosen discipline as well as training to develop the core skills needed to succeed in a professional organisation. As an Apprentice in our team, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist and undertake tree surveys and assessments to meet the project requirements, including species identification and the recording of key dimensions such as stem diameter, tree heights and crown dimensions.
- Support the preparation of reports and recommendations for tree management and the integration of trees in development projects, working alongside other disciplines to collaborate and find solutions.
- Learn and support the production of arboricultural drawings including Tree Constraints Plans, Tree Retention and Removal Plans and Tree Protection Plans.
Role Details:
- Start Date: September 2026
- Location: Manchester, Leicester or London
- This position will include the opportunity to complete a fully funded professionally accredited Professional Arboriculturist qualification.
- The apprenticeship will start in September/October 2026, attending a local college for either one day per week or block placement, gaining a Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture. Typically, the Higher Apprenticeship takes between 2-3 years to complete.
Qualifications / Skills:
- 5 GCSE passes at Grade 4 (C) or above (including Maths and English or equivalent) plus 48 UCAS Tariff points from one or more of the following: 2 A-levels (A2), at least one at C or above, BTEC/C&G Level 3.
- You will be studying or will have achieved a Level 3 Arboricultural qualification with a grade of Merit or above, or you will have achieved a Level 2 Arborist Apprenticeship with a minimum of a Distinction grade. Alternatively, we will consider candidates who have previous arboricultural experience.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility.
- MS Office skills.
- Self-Motivated.
- Suitability for Security clearance.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and ideally access to a vehicle.
