An exciting opportunity for an experienced full-time vet to join our keen and enthusiastic team. There is some flexibility for part-time hours for the right candidate.
Good mix of dairy, beef and sheep with plenty of routine work as well as lots of calving and lambing. All the equipment you would expect - easi-scan ultrasound scanners, X-ray machine, bull and tup fertility testing equipment, Total-vet, Vet Impress, in-house lab for mastitis samples, worm and fluke counts and in-house blood machine. TB testing and export work shared out between all vets. Regular farmer meetings on a variety of topics. Small amount of first opinion equine work.
Team includes two certificate holders and a DBR holder. We are really proud of our team at Tethera - we all have individual areas of interest and value the ability to muck in and work as a team. Any prospective candidates will be encouraged to speak to as many of our team members as possible to help you get an idea of what we are about and if we are the right fit for the next step in your career.
As Tethera grows, we continue to look for ways to develop the services we offer which has recently included introducing our vet tech service, the launch of our small holder’s club and the addition of a blood machine to allow us to offer in-house transition cow monitoring for beef and dairy. We are always open to new ideas and are hoping to find a keen forward-thinking vet to join us. Holding OV panels for exports would be an advantage but is not essential.

Our team of vets have a broad range of experience - there is always someone to ask, we all learn from each other and encourage clinical discussions in work - it is very much a team sport. Rota - expected to be 1 in 7 on call weeknights and weekends, 2 in 7 for 10 weeks in Spring. Friendly vet and reception team. Options to develop areas of interest.
