The role of the Senior PMO Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project’s objectives. The SPSO will support the Bank’s programme and project managers across a broad range of services, which will include:

  • Planning
  • RAID management
  • Project/Programme Monitoring & Reporting - cross-referencing, analysing and challenging where appropriate.
  • Identifying and monitoring key performance indicators that may highlight capacity/capability constraints and over commitment of resources or changes to particular areas
  • Budget management and financial forecasting
  • Arranges Board meetings and ensures critical stakeholders in attendance, produces and distributes relevant material, provides status reports, and follows up on actions after meetings have taken place.
  • Provides secretariat function at meetings and can answer queries from stakeholders.
  • Ensuring adherence to Governance processes and coordinates change control process for Project or Programme
  • Likely to be point of contact in Project Manager’s absence.
  • May have mentoring/buddying relationship with more junior or newer team members.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of PMO community;

Role Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • An organised and proactive self-starter who is able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Experience of working in a PMO environment on high priority, complex, business and IT programmes and projects, including:
  • Experience of producing high quality documentation, briefing papers, reports and presentations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex sources of data and draw conclusions and derive recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) able to connect with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to challenge constructively whilst maintaining excellent working relationships within the programme community and with team members
  • Able to work collaboratively across project and organisational boundaries to achieve shared goals
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle a diverse workload and prioritise amid conflicting demands and lively work periods
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching team members, including those more senior
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Microsoft Project and Excel
