Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced API Automation Test Engineer with strong backend/API testing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in one or more programming languages, modern test frameworks, and backend validation techniques. This role involves validating complex backend systems, ledgering processes, API behaviours, and event‑driven workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts for backend/API testing.
• Perform API testing, database testing, and event‑driven workflow validation.
• Build, execute, and maintain automated test suites using industry‑standard frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyse logs, troubleshoot failures, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Validate ledger entries, transactions, and backend data consistency.
• Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure quality deliverables.
• Track defects and ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands‑on programming experience in any one language: Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience in API automation using one or more tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
• Experience in database testing with SQL, Oracle, or CockroachDB.
• Working knowledge of test automation frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, PyTest, or Cucumber.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GCP DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Git for version control.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk or ELK Stack.
• Good to have exposure to message queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure Boards.
