The ideal candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure stable, secure, and efficient system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Micro Focus / Rocket Software Platform Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Micro Focus or Rocket Software enterprise suites (e.g., Enterprise Server, COBOL environments, UFT, ALM, Service Manager, Enterprise Developer, Rocket Process Automation, Rocket Terminal Emulation, or equivalent).
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and migrations to ensure platform stability and compliance.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, analyze logs, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Manage licensing, user provisioning, and configuration across environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
- Monitor application and server health, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Optimize system performance, including memory, CPU, I/O, job scheduling, and workload balancing.
- Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs.
- Integrate Micro Focus/Rocket tools with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automation frameworks.
- Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Shell) to automate tasks, deployments, and maintenance activities.
- Support DevOps and modernization initiatives for legacy workloads.
- Implement security best practices, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Work with security teams on access control, encryption, and secure configurations.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support for application and infrastructure teams.
- Liaise with vendors (Micro Focus/Rocket Software) for support, issue resolution, and product guidance.
- Participate in on-call rotations for production support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7–10 years of hands‑on experience administering Micro Focus and/or Rocket Software enterprise tools.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Micro Focus Enterprise Server / Enterprise Developer / COBOL environments
- Rocket Software tools (Rocket Terminal, Rocket Enterprise Automation, Rocket Modernization tools)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Micro Focus or Rocket Software (if applicable).
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
- Knowledge of legacy modernization or workload migration strategies.
- Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
