Senior Network Engineer Resource CCIE level responsible for the design, development, implementation, operation, and support of networking infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center, Backbone, and Internet Client connectivity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Management of network IP addressing, IP traffic management, and RIPE update responsibilities.
- Troubleshooting complex problems involving client critical infrastructure production networks.
- Providing root cause analysis to impacting network issues.
- Offering subject matter technical engineering expertise and support, and reviewing technical work of others.
- Following IT Service Management procedures such as Incident Management and Change Management.
- Identifying and escalating situations requiring urgent attention.
- Evaluating and selecting network solutions and architectures.
- Responding to and communicating timely and effectively within the predetermined timeframe of our service level agreement with customers, providing professional and knowledgeable service.
- Cooperating with suppliers, manufacturers, and telecom providers regarding network expansion.
- Documenting and implementing operations procedures and network architecture standards for the deployed network technologies.
- Continuously updating network designs and documents library.
- Performing instructional sessions for knowledge transfer.
- Supporting impacted changes during non-working hours and being onsite when necessary.
Position requirements:
- University or College Degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Systems, or a relevant technology-related field.
- At least 15 years of working experience in network design, implementation, and support activities.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols mainly IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, IPSEC, etc., routing/switching protocols and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, QoS, vPC, STP, SDWAN, SDAccess, Wireless, etc.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems like Cisco IOS, NXOS, etc.
- Solid understanding of Data Center network concepts and architectures including Overlays, CLOS, VXLAN, DCI, etc.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a multicultural, multivendor environment.
- Fluent in Greek and English language (oral and written).
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Network Security principles and technologies.
- Knowledge of Security compliance frameworks such as PCI.
- Hands-on experience with VXLAN Fabric and overlays.
- Experience and Certifications in public cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience in implementing and troubleshooting network security solutions such as firewalls, SSL VPN, IPS/IDS, and SIEM.
