We are currently looking for a qualified NDT Inspector. Location: Filton, Bristol. Contract: Full time, permanent. 37.5 hours per week.
The main duties of the role are:
- Performing, interpreting, and reporting on inspections (including Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant) of manufactured or in-service components, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Visiting customer sites to undertake inspection work as required.
- Documenting test results in writing in accordance with the associated procedures.
- Acting as the point of contact for customers with ongoing requirements.
- Maintaining personnel records of NDT work undertaken in order to evidence experience during qualification renewal.
- Acquiring new qualifications as required to fulfil business and customer needs (training to be provided).
- Visiting customers to support the sales team in technical discussions.
- Performing additional duties as required in accordance with the role specification.
The role specifications are:
- Qualification/certification in accordance with EN4179 Level 2 (or 3 if available) in some, or all, of the following methods:
- UT - Conventional (Phased Array desirable)
- PT
- ET - Conventional (Array desirable)
- RT - Film & Non Film
- MT
- Documented experience hours for all NDT methods held.
- Documented Aerospace/Aircraft work experience hours.
- Experience of In-service/manufacturing inspection.
- Experience in the inspection of metallic and composite components.
The desired role attributes are:
- Capable of working independently using own initiative to resolve problems encountered.
- Ability to work in a team, showing resilience and flexibility to meet role and customer demands.
- Driving licence class B.
- Availability to travel at reasonable notice and work at customer sites on an overnight basis.
- Ability to attain UK SC (Security Check) clearance.
- Proficient in verbal and written English.
This role demands occasional extended hours working - payment will be made in line with agreed terms and conditions. Occasional shift work may be required subject to customer demand.
