Are you experienced at working in and co-ordinating a busy and diverse vehicle and plant workshop? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to come and join us here in the beautiful Test Valley, working within our excellent Environmental Service team!
Responsibilities
- Manage, plan and coordinate the maintenance of the Council’s fleet of vehicles and plant, ensuring it all remains compliant and safe.
- Manage the team of vehicle workshop supervisors and technicians across two depots, ensuring that service schedules are met and the fleet is maintained to an appropriate standard.
- Liaise with other managers across the council to ensure that any work required is undertaken in a timely manner, that parts, components and other services are ordered ensuring best value, and that all records are completed accurately and promptly.
Qualifications
- Essential: L3 NVQ in vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
- Essential: L5 management qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on and hands-in management style; ability to work with the team to keep frontline services operational.
- Excellent communication skills; experience of monitoring and managing budgets; experience of writing and reviewing risk assessments, etc.
