An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful Environmental Services Enforcement Team. As an Environmental Services Officer, you will play a vital role in tackling environmental crime across the borough, helping to maintain clean, attractive neighbourhoods for our residents, visitors and businesses.
At Test Valley, we take a proactive approach to environmental enforcement and have a zero-tolerance stance on offences such as fly-tipping, littering and abandoned vehicles. We are looking for a motivated, organised and resilient individual who thrives in a varied and rewarding role and can work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
About The Role
As an Environmental Services Officer, you will:
- Respond to reports of environmental crime and carry out site visits and inspections across the borough
- Gather evidence and prepare case files for prosecution
- Conduct interviews and engage with members of the public, businesses and partner organisations
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will receive training and support to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence, enabling you to build a rewarding career in environmental enforcement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be confident dealing with challenging situations and difficult conversations
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be organised, methodical and able to manage your own workload
- Demonstrate a high standard of customer care
- Be competent in using Microsoft Office applications
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Experience in enforcement, investigations or a customer-facing role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
