Responsibilities within the role:
- Delight our customers through the design of affordable, sustainable cloud solutions.
- Ensure designs are in line with evolving strategic Cloud platforms.
- Technical Design Authority for new Cloud Technologies focusing on GenAI.
- Provide consultancy, best practice, and architectural support to our internal teams.
- Staying abreast of the latest Cloud technologies.
Specific skills and experience required:
- Proficient in AWS, with equivalent AWS Certification.
- Experience of creating architectural patterns and technology evaluations.
- Experience of building solutions in AWS.
- Strong problem solving, analytical skills and curiosity.
- Able to articulate complex technical problems to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Understanding of modern application architectures and their dependencies on the Cloud infrastructure platform.
These skills are preferred but not essential:
- Other Cloud provider experience.
- Experience working in a regulated workplace.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience in presenting and sharing knowledge to a variety of audiences.
- Good understanding of relevant technical areas: Cloud Architecture design principles, for example AWS Well Architected Framework, n-Tier Architectures, Event Driven Architecture, Serverless, network and Cloud security.
- Configuration and Lifecycle management CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing and modern SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies.
- Business Protection Standards, CIS (Centre for Information Security) Benchmarks or ISO.
