We are seeking a Wireless SME to support our Operations Centre. The engineer shall be the primary SME for our modernised site wireless network. This role requires strong expertise in network engineering and site wireless technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Expertise in wireless technologies such as Wi‑Fi (802.11 standards), cellular (4G/5G) would be a benefit, and emerging wireless protocols.
- Fully understand design, implementation, and optimization of wireless networks for performance, coverage, and security (incl authentication).
- Skilled in diagnosing connectivity issues, interference, and bandwidth problems using tools like spectrum analysers and wireless monitoring software.
- Strong understanding of wireless security protocols (WPA3, encryption, authentication) and compliance standards.
- Planning for high-density environments and ensuring network scalability.
- Familiarity with major wireless vendors (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, etc.) and ability to recommend solutions based on business needs.
- Create technical documentation, network diagrams, and adhere to industry standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams and provide guidance or training to engineers and stakeholders.
- Understanding/experience of visitor guest wireless best practices and deployments.
- Understanding/experience of resident/hospitality guest wireless best practices and deployments to ensure Care Home residents have ability to use smart technology as they would at home.
- Stay updated on new wireless technologies like Wi‑Fi 7, IoT connectivity, and private 5G networks.
- Strong background in network engineering.
- Wireless network design & RF planning for high‑density space.
- Guest & resident Wi‑Fi deployments in hospitality/healthcare settings.
