Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Author / Designer with a strong background in process documentation and software engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and clear, concise documentation that supports internal teams, stakeholders, and end users. In addition to technical writing, the candidate will be responsible for developing professional presentation materials to support knowledge sharing, training, and executive reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and project managers to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
- Research end user needs to create informative content and identify areas for improvement in existing documentation.
- Document software systems, APIs, workflows, and development processes in alignment with internal style guides and standards.
- Create and deliver engaging PowerPoint presentations for training, stakeholder communications, and management briefings.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity across all written materials and presentations.
- Contribute to knowledge management systems and support continuous improvement in documentation practices.
- Review and edit documentation produced by technical teams for quality and adherence to style guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Technical Author/Writer in a software engineering or IT environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of software engineering concepts, methodologies, and tools (e.g., SDLC, Agile, DevOps).
- Demonstrated ability to create clear process documentation and technical content for diverse audiences.
- Advanced proficiency creating professional, visually engaging presentations, and info graphics).
- Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Markdown, MS Word, MS Powerpoint or equivalent).
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to understand user needs and the information gap.
- Proficiency with common technical writing tools and content management systems.
Education & Experience
- Extensive experience in technical writing, process documentation, or software engineering-related roles.
- Good knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, best practices, and current industry trends.
