Primary School Teacher β Year 1 Maternity Cover
The Education Specialist (TES) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Bootle, teaching a Year 1 class.
This is a full-time, temporary maternity cover position starting in January and running for 2 terms, until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching within a supportive and well-structured school environment.
The school has a strong focus on pupil progress and inclusive learning, with a collaborative staff team and a positive learning culture, making it an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teacher looking to develop their practice in a supportive setting.

Primary Teacher role requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly KS1
- Experience teaching Year 1 is desirable
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A proactive and reflective approach to teaching
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
The successful Primary Teacher will
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the primary curriculum
- Teach a Year 1 class throughout the maternity cover period
- Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning needs
- Monitor, assess and track pupil progress
- Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO and leadership
