We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for education and activity professionals this summer! A school in Devon is launching its first-ever summer programme from July to August, partnering exclusively with Hays Education to build a fantastic residential team. This brand-new programme welcomes students aged 11-18 from local, national, and international backgrounds. Students will join curriculum-linked courses alongside a range of high-quality activities, including:
- Football sessions with a Premier League partner
- Swimming with elite-level coaches
- Nature and environment courses delivered by a leading university
Training days: 16th & 17th July
Flexibility: Weekday and weekend cover needed, with varied hours
Accommodation: Boarding provided for staff
You’ll be joining a well-established school in Devon that is launching an innovative summer programme designed to inspire young people aged 11-18. Working in partnership with Hays Education, the school aims to deliver a high-quality residential experience that blends academic enrichment, sports, wellbeing, and outdoor learning. You’ll be part of a supportive, enthusiastic team committed to providing a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for students from across the UK and overseas.
Your new role
- Teachers – Business/ICT
- Deliver engaging lessons linked to the curriculum
- AI and coding knowledge essential
- QTS ideal but not required
- Plan and deliver inspiring sessions for mixed-ability learners
- Sports Leaders & Sports Assistants
- Lead and support sports sessions including football, swimming and multi-sports
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and confidence
- Ideal for individuals passionate about physical activity and youth development
- Houseparents
- Provide pastoral and overnight support within boarding houses
- Build positive relationships with students and ensure a safe environment
- Paediatric First Aid certificate required
- Pastoral Support Assistants
- Support student welfare and wellbeing throughout the programme
- TEFL experience or a background in pastoral care preferred
- Assist with daily routines, activities, and student engagement
What you’ll need to succeed
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and confident working with young people
- Able to work flexibly across weekdays and weekends
- A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills
- Passionate about education, pastoral care, or activity delivery
- Willing to work in a residential setting (accommodation provided)
Specific Role Requirements Include
- Teachers: Strong Business/ICT subject knowledge; confidence teaching AI/coding
- Sports roles: Experience leading or supporting sports sessions
- Houseparents: Paediatric First Aid certification
- Pastoral roles: Experience in pastoral care or TEFL desirable
