Great opportunity as a Despatch Clerk for our client in Teesport, Middlesbrough.

Pay & Hours

  • Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour.
  • This is a full‑time role, working 4 on 4 off shifts.
  • Hours of work: 7am to 7pm.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the despatch/loading module up to date in accordance with site processes.
  • Efficiently and accurately dispatch deliveries with relevant delivery paperwork.
  • Utilise customer systems to update dispatch or delivery information.
  • Monitor the return of empty equipment from deliveries.
  • Ensure delivery point and any necessary customer or 3rd party contact are made aware of late deliveries or loading delays.
  • Direct drivers to correct locations on arrival at site as required.
  • Complete customer or ESL KPIs where required.
  • Escalate issues to the Senior Transport Clerk or Assistant Transport Manager if unable to resolve.
  • Keep up to date with news items and process updates as detailed on the ESL intranet system.
  • Enter correct trailer numbers into Isotrak for trailer tracking.
  • Monitor the service board to ensure the correct week number is on the correct trailer for depot trailers.
  • Monitor and act on any driver line calls for the depot.
  • Liaise with drivers on the gate communication system to inform them of site procedures before entering.
  • Liaise with the planning team to ensure all deliveries are collected on time.
  • Liaise with Maxi haulage and the rail team to ensure resources are available when required.
  • Liaise with warehouse to supply Irish seals and ensure paperwork is correctly endorsed.
  • Issue the rail team with correct case and cage counts daily.

Requirements

  • Experience within a similar role preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows package (Word, Excel, Outlook) effectively.
  • Ability to follow pre‑defined steps, methods or procedures.
  • GCSE grade 'C' or above in Maths and English.
  • Equivalent of 5 GCSE grade 'C' or above.
