We are seeking an EAL Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Burnley. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is skilled in supporting children new to English, ranging from Reception to Year 6. The position requires confidence in devising individual learning plans and a proactive approach to educational support.

Location: Burnley

Hourly Rate: Β£16.35 - Β£18.62

Job Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective learning strategies tailored to the needs of EAL students.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate EAL strategies into the broader curriculum.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that recognises the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of students.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of EAL students, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Prepare teaching materials and resources that facilitate language acquisition.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to support the educational development of their children at home.
