Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare and deliver well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, track and report on student progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
  • Good classroom management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
  • Experience preparing students for GCSE English

  • Experience working with SEN or mixed-ability classes
