Overview

Bucksmore Education is hiring engaging, motivated Centre Managers to lead BC‑accredited EFL, Leadership and pre‑University programmes teaching students aged 10‑17 in prestigious residential settings across the UK during summer 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are in place at the centre in time for opening.
  • Provide a comprehensive induction day for all staff that ensures they have a good overview of their roles at the centre, and performance expectations.
  • Hold regular meetings with staff and ensure the running of the centre meets Bucksmore’s high standards in academic and activity programmes.
  • Hold regular meetings with college administrative staff (e.g., catering and accommodation managers) to support smooth operation.
  • Liaise with the Head Office regarding student numbers, expected arrivals, departures or cancellations.
  • Ensure staff payroll is submitted on time and in accordance with the dates specified by the Recruitment Manager.
  • Liaise with Head Office regarding staff pay details.
  • Manage the centre budget and petty cash, ensuring weekly finance and administration reports are completed and sent to Head Office on time.
  • Manage student pocket money and update payment ledger accurately.
  • Work with other Senior Staff to maintain staff and student discipline.
  • Maintain control over student security.
  • Serve as the Safeguarding Lead at the centre (with support from the Bucksmore Designated Safeguarding Lead) and monitor the MyConcern App, taking appropriate action as necessary or in consultation with Bucksmore DSL.
  • On arrival, allocate students to their rooms quickly and efficiently.
  • On departure, inspect all rooms for damage and record any damages.
  • Monitor staff levels and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained in consultation with Bucksmore Head Office.
  • Shut down the centre at end of course, return all materials and equipment to Head Office.
  • Provide an end‑of‑course report to Head Office.
  • Ensure all staff receive an appraisal meeting and pass reports to HR at Head Office.
  • During working hours devote time, attention and abilities to the business and affairs of the centre and act so as not to bring Bucksmore Education into disrepute.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to work in the UK prior to commencing employment.
  • Native or native‑level English speaker.
  • Management experience in a residential environment with young people such as a school, university, summer school or similar environment.
  • Experience working with young learners and delivering a programme of study for them.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and data management.
  • Experience working with international students, familiarity with cultural differences, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

Remuneration

Weekly rate: £935.20 – £1,127.10 (holiday pay calculated on top). A weekly accommodation offset will be deducted from salary. All meals are provided.

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check (and a police check if residing outside the UK). Bucksmore will cover the upfront cost of the Enhanced DBS check (currently £49.50) and the DBS Update Service subscription; 50% of the total cost will be reclaimed from the first pay run. Returning to work in subsequent years requires maintaining the Update Service subscription; failure to do so will result in responsibility for the full cost of a new Enhanced DBS check.
