We are looking for an experienced Special Needs English Teacher to work full‑time, permanently in an SEBD school in Colchester, Essex. The role requires strong experience in teaching English to GCSE‑level and low‑level learners and a commitment to the development of both yourself and the pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi‑disciplinary classroom team.
  • Take the lead in your subject area and develop clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students.
  • Ensure pupils fulfil their potential and manage behaviour with calm demeanour and a sense of humour under pressure.
  • Understand and be committed to safeguarding children.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • Extensive experience teaching English to GCSE and low‑level learners.
  • Secondary or Primary teaching experience.
  • Experience with SEN/SEBD/ASD/SEMH and strong behaviour management.
  • Availability to start September 2026.
