About the Role
Connex Education are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Level 2 or 3 Qualified Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of welcoming primary schools across Somerset. We have flexible opportunities available on a day‑to‑day supply basis, alongside short‑term and long‑term placements starting from September 2026. We are proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected Multi‑Academy Trust across the Southwest. Responsibilities
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
- Working with pupils individually and in small groups
- Delivering intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement
- Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications
- Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Have experience working within a UK primary school setting
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Are confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and classroom expectations
- Have knowledge of Phonics and Read Write Inc.
- Hold a DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one
