We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Tutor/Teacher to work 1-1 with students who are currently on waitlists for specialist school placements or are at risk of exclusion. These learners have SEN and/or SEMH needs and require patient, tailored support to help them stay engaged in education.
About the Role
- Provide 2 hours of teaching daily: 1 hour of English and 1 hour of Maths per student.
- Initially working with one student, with potential for your caseload to increase as new referrals come in.
- Sessions take place either in the student’s home with a parent/carer present or at our purpose built tuition centre.
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualised learning to support progress and confidence.
- You must be able to teach both English and Maths up to GCSE level ideally but Primary levels will be considered.
Ideal Candidates
- Qualified teachers with SEN/SEND experience.
- Anyone who has worked as an Outreach Tutor/Teacher and is comfortable with 1-1, home-based learning.
- Professionals with outreach, alternative provision, or PRU experience.
- Individuals who are patient, adaptable, and confident supporting students with SEMH needs.
Requirements
- Experience working with SEN/SEMH students.
- Able to teach English AND Maths - Must be both, not either/or.
- Strong behaviour‑management and relationship‑building skills.
- Reliable, consistent, and able to start ASAP.
- Comfortable delivering tuition in the student’s home.
Pay
£25-£35 per hour (depending on experience)
