We are seeking to expand our Hourly Paid Lecturer Pool and invite applications from enthusiastic, skilled, and industry-experienced professionals across a range of subject areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible teaching work within a dynamic and supportive Further Education environment.
As part of our Hourly Paid Lecturer Pool, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning on an ad hoc basis to support curriculum delivery across the College. Opportunities may arise across a variety of subject areas, depending on business needs. You will play a key role in supporting student success, delivering engaging sessions, and contributing to a positive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching sessions in your specialist subject area
- Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet learner needs
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
- Support student progress, engagement, and achievement
- Maintain accurate academic records as required
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Comply with college policies, including safeguarding and health & safety
- Relevant qualification or significant industry experience in your subject area
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate learners
- Strong organisational skills
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Experience teaching in Further Education or training environments
- Knowledge of current curriculum and assessment practices
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
Accepted Qualifications- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) - if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
- SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
- Masters in Education
- TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
