We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Lecturer in French to join our curriculum team at Cadbury College on a permanent, part‑time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and deliver high‑quality teaching in a supportive and forward‑thinking learning environment.
As a Lecturer in French, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons that enable students to develop their language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes and progress to further study or employment. You will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and continuous improvement, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high‑quality French lessons across relevant programmes
- Develop engaging teaching materials and resources
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and track student progress to support achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement
- Act as a personal tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records
- Participate in team meetings, CPD, and college events
- Degree in French or a related subject
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Experience teaching French at Level 2/3 (e.g. GCSE or A Level)
- Experience delivering high‑quality teaching and learning at Level 3
- Strong subject knowledge and fluency in French
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
- Experience working in a Further Education setting
- Knowledge of current curriculum and assessment practices
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
