As a Design Manager, you will join our Design and Construction Project Management teams to deliver services for new Tesla showrooms, service centers, delivery hubs, bodyshops, and distribution centers across the region. You will manage and deliver individual projects with a focus on design, working with the brightest people to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

We are looking for an architect or technical designer with experience in industrial design who can think outside the box. In this role, you will manage the full design process—from early feasibility and design phases through to construction and project handover—for a combination of new and existing Tesla locations. Your responsibilities will include site inspections, design intent documentation, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Site Analysis: Conduct due diligence, feasibility studies, and site surveys for new and existing locations.
  • Design Creation: Produce Design Intent Drawings in REVIT, ensuring adherence to brand standards, code compliance, and efficiency.
  • Internal Alignment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Security, EHS) to integrate technical specifications and requirements.
  • External Coordination: Work with Architects of Record and consultants to optimize constructability and cost‑benefit ratios.
  • Permitting: Manage regulatory permit requirements with the support of external vendors.
  • Financial Management: Assist in creating CapEx figures, preparing bid packages, and reviewing third‑party invoices.
  • Project Monitoring: Oversee projects to ensure the execution aligns strictly with the established design intent.

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional Experience: Proven professional background in architectural design or construction engineering, with a minimum of 4 years experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of REVIT, BIM 360, CAD applications, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction engineering, BIM processes, and local building codes and zoning laws.
  • Project Execution: Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and consultant relationships to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communication: Excellent documentation and presentation skills, capable of translating complex problems into clear plans for leadership.
  • Mindset & Travel: Positive, fast‑learning attitude with a passion for manufacturing infrastructure and a willingness to travel.
  • Desirable Extras: Experience with 3D scanning, authority management, and project management fundamentals is highly valued.
