Position Overview
As a Business Development Manager at VEV, you will play a critical role in accelerating the transition to sustainable transport.
You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities with fleet operators, logistics providers, and commercial transport organisations across the UK and Europe.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on driving revenue growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and positioning VEV as a trusted partner in fleet electrification.
You will work closely with internal technical, delivery, operations, and marketing teams to develop tailored solutions that meet customer operational and commercial needs.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial instincts with a deep understanding of fleet operations and the transportation value chain.
You will be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, navigating complex sales cycles, and building long-term partnerships.
- Role & Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the commercial fleet sector
- Build and manage strong relationships with customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and lead generation through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract close
- Understand customer operational requirements and develop tailored fleet electrification solutions in collaboration with internal teams
- Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and commercial proposals that clearly communicate the value of VEV’s solutions
- Work closely with technical, delivery, operations, and marketing teams to support customer success and solution development
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, CRM records, and revenue forecasting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments within transport and EV infrastructure
- Represent VEV at customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or commercial account growth
- Experience working with logistics, transport, van, truck, or bus fleet operators (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to develop new leads and scale opportunities from inception through to close.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales processes.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience within EV charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, energy, or mobility sectors (desirable)
- Experience responding to tenders, RFPs, or procurement frameworks (desirable)
