As an AGV Specialist, you’ll play a key role in deploying a diverse fleet of advanced autonomous mobile robots, along with the infrastructure and ancillary systems that support them, within a state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing environment. The goal is a highly complex, highly accurate robotic operation that pushes the boundaries of modern automation.
As an AGV Specialist, you will lead the design and delivery of automated material flow solutions for our new greenfield battery manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in defining and implementing our logistics operation, leveraging Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to deliver an efficient, reliable, and scalable material flow solution in a highly complex environment across our India and UK plants. You will play a central role in shaping our global logistics strategy, ensuring seamless integration of automation technologies that support production, warehousing, and plant‑wide material movement. This is a hybrid position based in Somerset, with occasional travel within the UK and overseas.

We are a scale‑up business with a start‑up mentality and the backing of a well‑established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
The team you’ll join: The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T, control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help in building large‑scale logistics facilities from the ground up.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in the design, optimisation, installation, and commissioning of AGV systems, ideally within the battery, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of AGV Fleet Management Systems and their integration with higher‑level systems such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Expertise in material flow design from conceptual strategy through to operational deployment and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated success in delivering logistics automation projects using structured project management methodologies.
- Solid understanding of logistics processes, automation technologies and performance optimisation tools.
